Signs It’s Time to Upsize (Before You’re Forced To)

Most people don’t wake up one day and decide to upsize out of nowhere. It’s usually a slow build of small frustrations that eventually add up to one clear answer.

If you’re finding yourself storing things in the garage because there’s no room inside, that’s usually an early sign. Same goes for working from your kitchen table because there’s no dedicated space, or feeling like every room in the house is doing double duty just to make things fit.

A growing family is the most obvious trigger, but it’s not the only one. Needing space for aging parents, wanting a home office that’s actually separate from daily life, or simply outgrowing a starter home you bought years ago before your life looked like it does now, all of these count.

The reason I say before you’re forced to is that people who wait until they’re completely out of space tend to make faster, more stressed decisions. People who start looking a little early get to be more selective about the next home and the timing of the move.

You don’t need every box checked to start the conversation. If even two or three of these are sounding familiar, it’s worth at least understanding what your options would look like.

Whenever you’re ready to talk through what upsizing could actually look like for your situation, I’m glad to help you think it through.
